Delivery dockets

Convert a delivery docket to Excel

Dockets arrive as paper, photos and PDF attachments, and end up being retyped into a spreadsheet line by line. Upload the file instead and get a formatted .xlsx back with every row in place.

Why dockets are painful to digitise

A delivery docket is a table surrounded by noise — a letterhead, a driver signature box, delivery terms, a totals row and often a second page. Generic PDF-to-Excel converters treat the whole page as a grid, so headers and footers land in the middle of your data and merged cells split rows in half.

  • Every supplier uses a different layout, so templates go stale
  • Scans and phone photos have no underlying text layer at all
  • Quantities and prices are easy to mistype under time pressure
  • Reconciling a docket against an order means rekeying it twice

How DocketFlow handles it

Rather than matching a fixed template, the document is read the way a person would: find the line-item table, work out which column is a product code, which is a quantity and which is a price, then ignore everything that isn't a line item.

  • Works on scanned, photographed and digital PDFs
  • No per-supplier setup — a new layout works first time
  • Header rows, terms and totals are excluded from the data
  • Failed documents are flagged and don't count against your allowance

What you get back

A formatted Excel workbook with a Data sheet containing one row per line item and consistent headers you can paste straight into your accounts or stock system, plus a Summary sheet with the supplier, document date and row count. It's emailed to you and stored in your dashboard.

Who uses it

Builders' merchants and construction firms checking deliveries against orders, hospitality teams tracking food and drink costs, and wholesale suppliers who need their own dockets back in a spreadsheet for stock and margin reporting.

Frequently asked questions

Can it read a photographed or scanned docket?
Yes. As long as the text is readable to the eye, the document is read page by page — no clean digital PDF required.
Do I have to set up a template for each supplier?
No. Every docket layout is read on its own terms, so a new supplier works the first time without configuration.
What columns does the Excel file contain?
Line number, product code, description, quantity, unit, unit price and line total — whichever of those appear on the docket. Empty columns are dropped.
Can I convert multi-page dockets?
Yes. Multi-page dockets are combined into a single Data sheet, with a Summary sheet listing the supplier, document date and row count.
How long does a conversion take?
Typically under a minute. The finished spreadsheet is emailed to you and kept in your dashboard to re-download.
