Delivery notes

Convert delivery notes to Excel

Delivery notes pile up in a tray by the door, then get typed into a spreadsheet once a month by whoever has the time. Upload the note instead and the lines come back as a proper table.

Delivery note, docket, packing slip — one document

The name changes with the country and the trade, but the job is identical: prove what arrived and at what price. Whatever your suppliers call it, upload it as a delivery docket and the same extraction runs.

  • Britain: delivery note, advice note
  • Ireland: delivery docket
  • North America: packing slip, delivery ticket, bill of lading

What comes out

Each line item lands in its own row with the fields separated properly, so quantities and prices are numbers you can sum rather than text you have to retype. Header details — supplier, note number, date, order reference and delivery address — sit on a Summary sheet.

  • Product code and description kept apart, even when the description wraps
  • Quantity, unit, unit price and line total as numeric columns
  • Empty columns removed so the sheet stays readable
  • One Excel file per note, emailed to you and stored in your dashboard

Check the note against the invoice

Once notes are in Excel, reconciling them with the supplier's monthly statement is a lookup rather than an afternoon. Short deliveries, price creep between quote and invoice, and duplicate charges all surface as a mismatch instead of slipping through.

Built for the paperwork you actually get

Real delivery notes are creased, stamped, signed and sometimes amended by hand. The extraction is designed around that: printed lines and short handwritten corrections are read together, and a page that cannot be read cleanly is flagged rather than quietly guessed at.

Frequently asked questions

Is a delivery note the same as a delivery docket?
Yes — they are the same document under different names. 'Delivery note' is the usual term in Britain, 'delivery docket' in Ireland, and 'packing slip' or 'delivery ticket' in North America. All of them list what was delivered, and all of them convert the same way here.
What does the Excel file contain?
A Data sheet with one row per line item — product code, description, quantity, unit, unit price and line total where they appear — and a Summary sheet with the supplier, note number, date and delivery address.
Will it read a carbon copy or a photo?
Yes. The pink or yellow carbon copy that comes off the pad is read with OCR, as is a photo taken on a phone in a yard. Legibility matters more than file format: a flat, well-lit page reads far better than a creased one at an angle.
Can I convert notes from several suppliers?
Yes, and you do not need a template per supplier. Each note is read on its own terms, so a builders merchant's A4 printout and a food wholesaler's docket pad both produce the same column layout.
How much does it cost?
Your first test document is free with no card. Paid plans start at 50 documents a month, and high-volume users are quoted individually.
